"ART CUNT SHIT CUNT" is an anonymous quote heard at a rural Tasmanian pub after a cultural event had come through the town. The work disseminates how such a statement might be harboured — drawing on live event data, public discourse, ecological crisis, and cultural signal to autonomously generate a series of plates. It ruminates on backlash and finds lightning in the void.
+ Process

An autonomous image system generates a new artwork every six hours during Dark Mofo 2026 (11–22 June). No human selects the subject matter.

Each artwork is assembled from live festival signal — the events, artists, and performances of that day — combined with Tasmanian endangered species, native flora, public critical response, First Nations cultural context, and colonial voyage expedition references. These fragments are rendered as late-eighteenth-century copperplate engravings in black ink and blood-red on bone paper.

The visual language of colonial scientific classification is applied to the contemporary cultural event that inherited its structures. The specimen is not the animal. The specimen is the festival.
